Some people look at their empty backyard and assume it has to be bordered with greenery on the edges. It's the same mistake people make indoors by placing their furniture against walls. Instead, realize that greenery and flowers don't have to be relegated to the edge of the property, but can be in the middle or in different sections. How you position plants, landscape beds and other garden elements will effect how and where seating and an outdoor kitchen will be placed.
A well-lit yard is enjoyable to look at from inside the house and makes it look better overall. Consider lighting specimen plantings, pergolas, pathways, patios and decks when you plan your outdoor lighting. Low-voltage lighting is easy to install yourself since it comes in kits that can be added to later on as you continue to develop your outdoor living spaces.
Another method is to use a deck-cleaning product. There are many to choose from, so ask at the store which product is best for the type of deck you have. For wood decks, most contain a bleaching agent that will help loosen debris and lighten the color of the wood.
Annuals, perennials and shrubs can all perform well in pots. Do your homework and prepare the right soil mixture to help plants thrive. It’s also vital to supply adequate moisture. If watering is difficult, your containerized courtyard garden won’t complement the scene.
